Investment project code: 51

The Indigo Garden project aims to:

  • Introduce growing gardens at our two Early Years locations
  • Improve the overall health and wellbeing of children and parents
  • Support children and families to engage more widely with their communities.
  • Enable parents to become more engaged in the children’s learning and development

Outdoor learning is an integral part of learning and play at all Indigo Services, however the Indigo Garden project will enable a more integrated approach to wider community involvement, whole family engagement and improvements in physical and emotional health and wellbeing, in addition to the obvious improvements in knowledge around the food we grow and how we can make best of use of it. We know that with such an integrated approach with families and the wider community, the likelihood of a more sustained set of positive outcomes in terms of both attainment and health and wellbeing, is far greater.
